To improve the survival rate of piglets and achieve full life and health, the following points should be done:
First, eat colostrum.
After the birth of the piglets, artificial support should be given to let the piglets eat colostrum as early as possible, no more than 2 hours at the latest, and should ensure that the piglets get sufficient breast milk to enhance physical strength and promote the healthy development of the piglets.
Second, heat preservation, anti-freezing, anti-pressure.
The appropriate temperature for piglets is generally 30-32℃ 1-3 days after birth, 28-30℃ for 4-7 days of age, 22-25℃ for 15-30 days of age, and about 20℃ after 30 days of age. Anti-squashing can be used to prevent sows from crushing piglets by setting up litter bars or piglet conservation and supplementary feeding stalls
Three, give piglets iron.
Postpartum 2-3 days to start iron supplementation, otherwise piglets before and after 10 days of age will be due to iron deficiency and appetite loss, scattered hair, pale skin, growth stagnation and white dysentery. The most commonly used methods of iron supplementation are iron-copper mixture supplement and mineral licking agent method.
