Some Of The Problems Pig Floors Can Prevent

Nowadays, modern high-bed intensive pig farming adopts fully slatted floors or semi-slatted floors. It not only facilitates the collection of feces, enables ventilation and dry and wet separation, but also improves livestock hygiene and epidemic prevention conditions. The selection of leaky manure boards is very important. Through the actual operation, we will analyze the problems caused by pig floors.

1.The occurrence of pig toe and hoof disease

When different floor materials are used, the damage to pig's trotters is also different. When pigs are raised on mud floors, the lesions on pig's hooves are the least. When raised on aluminum slats, the lesions on pigs' hooves are slightly more than those of pigs raised on pig iron slats and cement slats. The severity of footpad lesions is the most serious on plastic floors and aluminum slat floors, while the incidence of hoof cracks is highest on concrete floors. Generally, floors that are conducive to hoof shell wear can often reduce toe pad damage, but can increase hoof cracks. Therefore, in terms of pig toe and foot disease, manure leakage boards made of several materials have their own advantages and disadvantages.

2. Release of pigs with nipple lesions

The contact surface of the slatted floor made of cast iron is rough, and the teats of the nursing sows raised in the positioning pen will rub against it, causing various mammary gland diseases and leading to the disease of piglets. It seriously affects the reproductive performance and breeding life of sows.

3. May cause feed waste

In many pig farms, feed waste is very high, generally accounting for 8%-10% of the total feed consumption, while the feed waste of traditional high bed slatted floors can reach 20%. When feeding piglets, due to the behavioral characteristics of the piglets, it is easy for the feed to be pushed out of the trough, and the outside of the trough is a slit floor. Once the feed is pushed out of the trough, it will leak from the slit to the bottom layer and cannot be absorbed by the pigs. Feed consumption causes a waste of feed. Therefore, the latest composite Hongrun manure leaking boards use semi-leakage floors in the trough position. The whole fecal leakage board is divided into two parts. The security position of the front trough and its surroundings are solid without gaps, while the rear part has fecal leakage holes.

4.Environmental pollution in pens

Pig manure blocks the gaps in the leaky floor, and pig trotters trample the feces. The feces is difficult to remove, the feces is not cleaned thoroughly, and the complete separation of feces and urine cannot be achieved. The residual feed that has not been cleaned up in time under the leaks accumulates and ferments, creating favorable conditions for the rapid reproduction and spread of pathogenic microorganisms, resulting in low health and disease resistance of pigs. Therefore, it is suitable to choose a composite material leakage board with a smooth leak hole surface and a relatively thin but strong board thickness.
